Leeds Rhinos boss Rohan Smith confirms Kruise Leeming has suffered potentially season-ending injury

Leeds Rhinos have been doing it tough with injuries in 2022 so far.

A number of high profile stars have been sidelined for a number of weeks and months and another added to that is Kruise Leeming who could be out until the end of the season with a foot fracture.

“Kruise has actually undergone through further tests and consultations and he has a stress fracture in his foot and will be out a significant period of time with six to 12 weeks,” Smith said.

“It was always a possibility based on the signs on his foot, but at this stage there is no absolute time line there, he’s only two weeks into his recovery.”

That being said, Smith has confirmed that both Liam Sutcliffe and Zak Hardaker will play a part this week, but Aidan Sezer and Blake Austin face another week off to get their niggles right.

The Rhinos are set to face the biggest marker of where they are under new head coach Rohan Smith when they face Wigan Warriors this Thursday night.

Leeds go into this one on the back of a disappointing 20-6 loss to Toulouse Olympique in the blazing heat in the south of France.

Wigan, meanwhile, could not be more confident following a 60-0 hammering of Hull FC last Friday night.
