Leeds Rhinos head coach Brad Arthur has commented on his future at Leeds Rhinos, and revealed he’s had talks with another side.
Brad Arthur, joining the Rhinos not long after being dismissed from the Parramatta Eels job after a decade with the NRL side, already faces speculation on his future despite not having taken charge of a game here yet.
As he’s only joined until the end of the year for now,and has refused to rule anything out – staying or not – for next year, plenty of sides could be in for him.
Speaking on his move to Leeds Rhinos, he said: “Like I said, I didn’t come here for a holiday. I’ve come here to work hard and try and improve the team the best I can. Where that takes us, that’s up to the playing group really.”
Speaking on whether he might stay with the Rhinos beyond this season, and when he would make the decision, he responded: “There’s no time frame on it and obviously if we go well, like we’re enjoying it and I like the place… well that helps doesn’t it?
“But like I said, I still have a real desire to coach at NRL level, but I’ve got a real desire to try and do the best I can right now.”

As well as incoming Hull FC head coach John Cartwright, Arthur was named by The Australian Daily Telegraph as someone that may be in contention to join the new Perth Bears franchise who are expected to be confirmed soon.
They would start play in NRL in either 2027 or 2028, and Arthur revealed:Â “I’ve had one meeting with those guys and that was with the Perth government, and that was more just around trying to help them with some questions that they had, some ideas on what they’re looking at, and pathways and stuff like that.
“Until any decision is made whether they’re in the competition or not, and who’s heading up the franchise and what it looks like, that’s as far as it’s gone.
“But does that opportunity excite? Well it would excite any head coach. You’re getting a clean slate but I feel like what I’ve got right here now is a clean slate.”
