Five Sky Sports pundits have made their Super League predictions with a majority vote favouring Leeds Rhinos to do something special in 2025.
Leeds Rhinos have missed the play-offs in the last two seasons but they’re being heavily touted to go well under head coach Brad Arthur after the visible improvements seen under his coaching late in 2025.
The Rhinos won five and lost five with Arthur at the helm but they passed the eye test and with a full pre-season under his belt, the former NRL man is expected to have Leeds ready to go.
That’s certainly the view for a number of Sky Sports’ pundits and presenters with a panel of five making their predictions for the Super League campaign including their Grand Final winner, surprise package, wooden spoon and Man of Steel.
Of those five, three have named Leeds Rhinos as the team to shock everyone whilst it’s bad news for Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers in the predictions.
Sky Sports pundits predict Super League 2025 with Leeds Rhinos tipped to shock
The pundit who fans love to hate, Jon Wilkin, made his selections first and he had one of his brilliant Wilkin-isms to describe how Leeds Rhinos will have been preparing for 2025.
Wilkin said: ” I’m thinking Brad Arthur has been flogging them like a herd of sheep on a cold Peak District hillside. When they come down to the farm, I’d hope they would be hard as nails, fit and fight,” which we think is his way of saying he is backing the Rhinos in 2025.
He also touted Wigan Warriors for the Grand Final whilst teetering on the fence and naming Wakefield, Castleford, Huddersfield and “maybe Salford” for the wooden spoon but ultimately stating his “head says Wakefield”.
Wigan Warriors were picked by Jamie Jones-Buchanan whilst Barrie McDermott had them making the Grand Final against Warrington Wolves, the team who Jenna Brooks has backed to finally have their year.
Brooks also tipped Wakefield to shock with Salford predicted to finish bottom. She said: “Rowley told us last year anything above 11th was a bonus. They finished fourth and surprised many but that was last year.
“This year, I don’t know if they’ll have what it takes to make such an impact in the top flight.”
To nobody’s surprise, both Barrie McDermott and Jamie Jones-Buchanan backed Leeds Rhinos to shock everyone with Jake Connor namechecked by both men as key to the club’s success.
Elsewhere, Jon Wells went different with his predictions as he backed Hull KR for the Grand Final with rivals Hull FC to shock everyone.
