Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors: Super League stars who could be in disciplinary trouble

There weren’t many games in the weekend just gone as the Challenge Cup Final and the 1895 Cup Final took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

There were also some reserves games that took place during the week, most notably Wigan Warriors’ 100-0 win over Castleford Tigers at Robin Park with one of the most one-sided fixtures in the history of rugby league.

However, a few players may be in trouble looking forward to the Disciplinary Match Review Panel’s meeting today.

Leeds Rhinos forward Muizz Mustapha was given a red card in the West Yorkshire club’s fixture against Warrington Wolves reserves, whilst Morgan Smithies caused controversy in Wigan’s win over Huddersfield Giants at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with two incidents of a swinging arm that went unpunished by referee James Child.

His second on powerful centre Ricky Leutele saw the Samoan hit the deck as Child pinged for a penalty, but he took no further action despite the major crackdown at the beginning of the season.

But, it’s thought Smithies will not escape punishment today.
