Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers men both cited by Disciplinary Panel

Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers players have been cited by the Disciplinary Panel following the first two pre-season friendlies of the season.

James Donaldson of the Rhinos was found guilty of a Grade B dangerous throw whilst Castleford Tigers’ Cain Robb was cautioned for pushing.

Donaldson’s offence came against Wakefield Trinity as the Rhinos lost to their West Yorkshire derby on Boxing Day.

Meanwhile, on New Year’s Eve Robb coped his caution against Featherstone Rovers as the Tigers prepared for their Super League season.

The Tigers are hoping to secure a place in the play-offs after missing out in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

They were so close in 2021 and 2022 losing their place in top six in the final fixture of their regular season.

They will want to make sure they don’t repeat that in 2023.

It will be good news for both Leeds and Castleford as neither player received a ban which means they can work hard in the other pre-season fixtures ahead of the new season to get ready for the new Super League season which starts with Leeds’ trip to Warrington Wolves on February 16th the week that Castleford Tigers take on Lee Radford’s former club Hull FC in Tony Smith’s first game in charge.
