Leeds Rhinos agree huge deal behind transfer

Recently Leeds Rhinos announced a massive new sponsorship deal with AMT which is one of the biggest in Super League.

They have now agreed an extension with Leeds Building Society. The Rhinos have agreed a new three year extension to their partnership with Leeds Building Society, which makes it the longest front-of-shirt sponsorship in English elite rugby, of either code.

The money from these deals are likely to be behind the club’s major transfers for Brodie Croft and Andy Ackers.

Leeds confirmed this sponsorship as they unveiled their new look principal kit for the 2024 Betfred Super League season which is a predominantly white kit with blue and amber features.

The Rhinos have launched the new look shirt with a special film featuring current stars of the Rhinos mens, womens and wheelchair teams alongside Olympic medallist gymnast Nile Wilson, Leeds United legend Jermaine Beckford and current Whites goalkeeper Illan Meslier all accompanied by the soundtrack from Leeds-based music scene heroes Utah Saints; Jez Willis from the duo even makes a brief cameo appearance too!

Whilst the Rhinos are famous for their blue and amber colours, for those who know their history, white kits are a Leeds thing that dates back to the start of the 20th century, even before our neighbours at Elland Road adopted their famous home colours in the 1960s. In 1910, Leeds won their first Challenge Cup in a white kit and since then the club has worn white kits both as an alternative kit and an alternative principal kit on many occasions, most recently back in 2007 when the club won the first of their three in a row Super League Grand Finals.

As well as the Leeds Building Society logo as principal club partners on the front, the shirt features new partners AMT Auto on the upper chest and shorts with the logos of Berry’s and Oxen completing the front. Apache and SM UK feature on the sleeves with NIC FM Services Group and ACS on the back of the shirt.

The players’ shorts feature Axis, AMT Auto and OXEN with Leeds Building Society whilst SM UK will feature on the players socks.

Made available in both our Headingley store and online, adult shirts are sized XS to 6XL with Ladies shirts available in sizes 8-18 for £51.99. Junior shirts and toddler kits have been frozen at £39.99 in sizes age 6 to 14 and ages 0 to 4 respectively. Adults replica shorts are also available in sizes XS-4XL for £25.99 whilst junior shorts, in sizes age 6-14, are £22.99. Adult socks are £12 whilst junior socks are £10.

Leeds Rhinos Commercial Director Rob Oates said, “I think the new shirt looks great and is a complete contrast to last season’s design. I think sporting fans across the city will love it and it will look great under the floodlights on a Friday night at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium. Gary Hetherington and Rohan Smith are working hard behind the scenes to put the right people in those shirts and there are some exciting times ahead. I would like to thank all our partners for their continued support.”
