Leeds pitch looking worse for wear after bizarre incident

Leeds’ pitch against Hull KR in their live Sky Sports fixture was a talking point amongst much of the rugby league fraternity.

After a season of looking the part, Headingley’s field could have hardly have looked further from ideal.

However, Sky Sports pundit Jenna Brooks revealed the reason as to why it wasn’t looking up to scratch.

“It’s not looking its usual pristine self and the reason is that Headingley hosted the Josh Warrington rematch,” Brooks said.

“I spoke to the ground staff who have been working tirelessly to get it back up to standard.

“The seating and standing had been sat on the grass for six days when it didn’t need to be and the grass has since been reseeded.”
