Leeds fans liken star to Super League legend whilst twitter loses it over Sky Sports dress sense – How social media reacted to Leeds’ win over Warrington

Last night Leeds claimed their fourth consecutive win after a difficult start to the season. In doing so, the Rhinos ended Warrington’s winning run plunging the Wire’s title bid into question. It was a gutsy effort from the 8-time Super League Champions as they were forced to defend with 11 men to claim the win. Well, that was my view anyway but how did social media see it?

The victory for Leeds came on the back of a near perfect first half. Three tries, including two lovely passing moves, helped give Leeds a 20-6 halftime advantage. But what really got the Rhinos on top was the performance of their big men. The likes of Matt Prior, Mikolaj Oledzki and substitute Tom Holroyd gave the Rhinos control thanks to their graft down the middle undermining Phil Clark’s pre-game predictions. It’s safe to say the Rhinos enjoyed that.

Even Warrington fans, including former Wolf Danny Sculthorpe, weren’t impressed with him or his dress sense.

He wasn’t the only Sky Sports pundit to receive stick for his dress sense. Brian Carney bore the brunt too.

No one, however, could steal the show from Matt Prior. The Rhinos number 10 was simply outstanding despite playing his fourth game in 11 days. He continued to torment the Wolves in both attack and defence and quite rightly claimed the man of the match award.

Even Warrington fans stepped into praise him whilst Leeds supporters likened him to a Super League legend.

Others felt that if anyone sums up the words man of steel, it’s Matt Prior.

Such was the quality of his performance, he began trending on Twitter so much so that cricket fans began to worry about the cricketer of the same name.

Prior and his Leeds teammates had endured a titanic battle with the Warrington pack. In the end though, Leeds came out on top largely down to this mistake many believed Prior’s sheer presence had a lot to do with it.

Prior was quite rightly exhausted after the game but so were plenty of viewers the action was so intense.

Nonetheless, plenty of Leeds fans believed it was a huge victory for the Rhinos one that could see them headed in the right direction from here.
