Leeds 36-12 Hull KR: Player ratings and major talking points

Leeds exorcised the demons of last week’s humbling defeat to St Helens with a sharp and scintillating showing at Headingley to secure fifth in the table and a date with Wigan next week.

Major Talking Points:

1. Rob Lui Renaissance

Rob Lui may be at the end of his career but he’s arguably playing his best rugby. He was top drawer tonight in every department and opened the scoring with a delightful solo effort.

2. Ever shifting momentum

Last week Hull KR looked to have all the momentum heading into the playoffs whilst Leeds looked dead in the water at St Helens. The tables have turned. With some key players back in the fold, the Rhinos produced one of their best performances of the season. Hull KR meanwhile struggled and their injury crisis was compounded by the loss of Matt Parcell in the first half. Now Leeds take the momentum into next week whilst Hull KR face a daunting trip to Warrington.

3. Worries for Leeming

Kruise Leeming has been Leeds’ best player this season and he was superb again tonight. But worryingly he was soon taken off and had ice placed on his hand after a first half knock. Leeds will be sweating over his fitness.
