Leeds 26-27 Warrington: Player ratings and major talking points

In an end to end game at Headingley, Warrington nicked a vital win thanks to a drop goal from the debuting George Williams.

Major Talking Points:

1. Cinema script for Williams

It was the perfect set-up for Williams. All-square with seconds left and he notched the drop goal to claim a win at Leeds’ expense. He had decent debut outside of his match winning antics. He kicked well and tested the Rhinos defence.

2. Leeds lacking Leeming

He’s been in superb form recently and he and Dwyer always combine brilliantly. In his absence it forced Dwyer to do more minutes and took away the impact he brings from the bench. Had Leeming played, Leeds might not have run out of steam like they did.

3. A classic sullied by fatigue

This was a good game. It was end to end, full of drama and skill but you could tell both sides were tired at the end. We saw uncommon errors from star players and you have to wonder how good the game could’ve been if both sides had come into fresh.
