Lee Radford reveals why he wanted forward

With the news that young 20-year-old Lewis Peachey has signed a new one-year deal at the Castleford Tigers, Lee Radford’s new squad is taking shape for 2022.

Peachey joins fellow youngsters Sam Hall and Brad Martin in extending their contracts for next season, whilst Radford has also recruited George Lawler, Bureta Faraimo, Kenny Edwards, Alex Sutcliffe and Jake Mamo.

Radford spoke positively on the youngster signing for another year, putting forward that Peachey will be given opportunities in and amongst senior members of the squad to develop his game further.

“Lewis is a good kid and the games I have watched him in this year, he has been tidy,” he said.

“The likes of him and Sam Hall have played a lot together when they have come into the first-team and to give them an opportunity, but with more senior players around them, will be great for their development.”
