Lee Radford reveals who will replace Niall Evalds as Castleford Tigers fullback

Castleford Tigers boss Lee Radford named his 21-man squad yesterday for the clash against St Helens tomorrow night.

But, one major name was absent – fullback Niall Evalds.

And, now Radford has revealed just why the former Salford Red Devils star will be sitting out.

“He’s done his bicep and he is going for a scan into next week but it’s pulled away and we just need to see how severe it is,” Radford told BBC Radio Leeds.

“There are some you can play with and some you can play without, but his pain isn’t high and his strength is still there, hopefully it will be positive news.”

With Evalds out of the equation at number one, Radford has been racking his brains about who will replace him – and he has named two options.

“Greg Eden or James Clare (will play there) it’s not been a tricky pick.

“We knew about Niall earlier in the week but we have made the transition on Monday.

“We have the option on Jason Qareqare to bring on, too.”

Other than Evalds, Radford’s team does not change much even though his side has played three games in nine days.
