Lee Radford identifies why Castleford Tigers were able to beat Leeds Rhinos

Castleford Tigers were able to fend off a stubborn Leeds Rhinos side earlier on today and managed to run out 16-14 winners.

Embroiled in that game, however, was a number of shocking errors from the Tigers and head coach Lee Radford was keen to stamp out those problems.

“We needed to keep hold of the ball,” Radford said.

“Everybody’s energy levels are low today and the team that kept hold of the pill would have come out with the spoils.

“We refused to do that in the second-half whether that was fatigue or attitude I don’t know.”

Radford also pointed to the upcoming fixture against St Helens and how much his side needs to improve.

“We need to sharpen our senses agains St Helens, but we’ve got another four day turnaround so getting our energy levels there will be difficult.

“Luckily we did enough to hang in there, they are in a bad spot at the moment and we exposed that today.”
