Lee Radford explains why he wanted forward to stay

Castleford Tigers handed young forward Brad Martin a new contract over the weekend, giving him a one-year contract.

For incoming Castleford head coach Lee Radford, Martin is an up-and-coming player who he is looking forward to tutoring during his time with the club.

“It is going to be a good opportunity to see what Brad is all about. He is going to get plenty of opportunities to develop and improve some of the good stuff he already does as a player.

“He’s a tough young bloke and I like the way he plays.”

Castleford already handed out a new contract to fellow youngster Sam Hall on Saturday morning, with Martin’s news following suit on Saturday night.

The likes of Lewis Peachey, Greg Eden and Suaia Matagi still remain without a contract for 2022, with George Lawler another new recruit expected through the doors at the Jungle.
