Lee Radford explains Castleford Tigers latest signing

Lee Radford has had a busy week finalising two young signings fulfilling his promise to bring plenty of young British players.

After signing the likes of Muizz Mustapha and Jack Broadbent from Leeds Rhinos, this week Radford completed the signing of Hull FC’s promising halfback Jacob Hookem prior to the Tigers announcing the signing of Bailey Dawson today of the Midlands Hurricanes having spent some of his career working with Hull KR.

Radford spoke about the signing after its confirmation today:

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for him and I really hope we can give him everything he needs to progress, and Bailey can give everything to move forward with this club.”

Meanwhile, Dawson opened up on his time with the Hurricanes:

“It was valuable experience. It was beneficial for my career. I had some good and some bad games, but it was definitely great experience for my career and for me to grow as a player.”

He also explained why he is eager to play with former Huddersfield Giants star Kenny Edwards:

“Kenny Edwards is a player I’d like to play with, he skips around a lot and he’s kind of a free back-rower and I like that a lot. He plays the game hard so he’s definitely someone I’ll be looking up to and to learn off.”
