Lee Radford apologises to Castleford Tigers fans following Catalans Dragons thrashing

Castleford Tigers went down 44-12 to Catalans Dragons last night, ending a four-match winning run in Super League.

The West Yorkshire side never really looked like troubling the French club and were second best in all departments with just two tries through Gareth O’Brien and Jason Qareqare getting them into double figures.

However, Castleford were backed by a noisy and hardy few that made the journey to the south of France and head coach Lee Radford paid tribute to them, apologising to them for the display.

“They always do (have fun), even when we are winning they are unbelievable, when we’re losing some of the chants I have to stop myself laughing sometimes but they are enjoying themselves,” Radford told Tigers TV.

“It’s a real shame that performance and I hate apologising to fans but we should have been better tonight.”

Castleford will have a week off next weekend with the Challenge Cup semi-finals taking place.

The Tigers themselves were knocked out by Hull KR who will go up against Huddersfield Giants at the home of Leeds United at Elland Road.

Next up for Castleford will be Hull KR again, this time at the Jungle on Sunday May 15.
