Leaked incident between Hull FC’s Will Smith and Huddersfield Giants’ Will Pryce revealed

If you had been paying attention to the Disciplinary Match Review Panel’s sanctions today, you will have noticed that Huddersfield Giants’ Will Pryce has been given a two-match ban,

The Panel revealed why the playmaker had been banned, stating: “Trips – Intentional Trip Grade B.”

It means that Pryce will sit out Huddersfield’s next two games against the Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers, but whilst the Huddersfield man has been banned retrospectively, he was not given a yellow card on the field by referee James Child.

Instead, Hull’s Will Smith was sinbinned for what the Match Review Panel claimed was an ‘Open-Hand Push’: “Player is pushed by opponent and responds with an open-handed push to the side of the opponent’s shoulder.”

Pryce’s trip has been leaked online and you can see the footage here:

It was a pivotal moment in the game just before half-time with the Giants able to just about overcome the Black and Whites by the time Child’s final whistle went at the end of the game.

Danny Levi scored two late tries to crush Hull hearts after Brett Hodgson’s men had led for most of the 80 minutes.

Meanwhile, Jordan Lane of the Black and Whites was also charged from that fixture for a late hit on the passer, with the MRP revealing: “Dangerous Contact – A defending player makes contact with an opponent after the ball has been released by an opponent in a vulnerable position which causes flexion to the head, neck or spinal column on an attacking player, which poses an unacceptable risk of injury to that player. Grade A.”

That being said, despite posing ‘an unacceptable risk of injury’ to a Huddersfield player, Lane has not picked up a ban due to previous good form so gets the lower end of the grading meaning a zero match penalty notice.
