Latrell Mitchell in scrap whilst training with South Sydney Rabbitohs

Sometimes the physicality and aggression of rugby league players can spill over – whether that’s in games or training.

Though scuffles in training can be common, they are rarely documented.

However, one such scuffle in South Sydney Rabbitohs training has been brought to the public eye, with Jacob Host taking exception to a hand-off from star Latrell Mitchell as the latter attacked the line.

The pair then wrestled and engaged in a push and shove before players and coaching staff got involved to break the pair up, Fox Sports has revealed.

Mitchell had already revealed that he would not change how he played on the field, despite breaking Joey Manu’s cheekbone in the Sydney derby late last season.

“I’m competitive, I play flat out and that’s what I love about myself, I take nothing from no one,” Mitchell previously told The Daily Telegraph.

And, that clearly means that his competitive nature spills out into training.

Mitchell will return to the field a week earlier than planned against Melbourne in round two after the Rabbitohs successfully appealed to have the All Stars representative counted toward’s his six-game ban following the Manu hit.
