Last proud to win first home match

Hull FC Head Coach Andy Last has expressed his pride at winning his first match at the KCOM Stadium against Castleford Tigers.

The Black and Whites claimed a 48-6 victory, and Last says he told the players to make it a performance to remember.

He said: “I gently whispered on the training ground that it was my first game in charge of Hull in my hometown club. Please make it one to remember.

“Carlos (Tuimavave) and Bureta (Fairaimo) said don’t worry coach, we will win it for you.

The emotional side of our game was on point, and we didn’t let up. The fact I won my first game at the KC is one I will remember for a long time.

“We are confident, we are moving in the right direction. The boys are buying into what we are asking them to do. With getting wins on the board, it makes that part of the job easier.”
