Lance Hohaia in maiden Rugby League job

Former St Helens and New Zealand international playmaker Lance Hohaia has become the coach of new North American side the Austin Armadillos.

The Armadillos are one of the new clubs joining the new North American Rugby League (NARL) competition that will get underway this year. And, Hohaia – who played for Super League St Helens between 2012 and 2015 – could not hide his joy at being part of the new venture.

Hohaia said, “I am extremely excited to be a part of the NARL, I have a deep passion for Rugby League and this is a great opportunity to highlight and grow the sport in the U.S.

“I see many positives with the NARL venture and the expansion of the West Coast teams.

“It is our aim to showcase this great game to the masses in the best way possible.”
