Lam unhappy with “unconnected” Wigan

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam has said he was disappointed with how “unconnected” his side were during their 18-8 defeat against Hull KR.

It was the Warriors’ second defeat in a row, and the first time they have lost at home to Hull KR since 2009.

Although not faulting his side’s effort, Lam was critical of their execution.

He said: “It was frustrating. We went the whole way through, but were just unconnected as a team.

“We made too many mistakes. 50-per-cent completion in the second half. We gave away roughly 20 errors, penalties and six-again’s against.

“There was effort there- no doubt about that. But I thought when we had so many sets inside of their 20 metre line, that the team we are, we should have posted points.

“You have to credit Hull’s defence for that, but we were poor at that. I’m disappointed because we had a few weeks to put it right, and we have done some good stuff. But we didn’t get it together tonight.”
