Lam: No excuses for performance

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam has said his side have no excuse for the way they performed against Hull KR.

The Warriors lost their first match since the competition resumed, and could be replaced at the top of the table should St Helens or Warrington win tomorrow.

He said: “When you look at the players who came in today, Oliver Gildart, Oliver Partington, Ben Flower moved up into a starting position and Joe Greenwood came into the side.

“It’s still a pretty good side. They are all world class players, and we have a squad that are good enough to play every week.

“I’m not making any excuses. I thought we had a team that was good enough to play.

“We didn’t start the game well. We were loose in certain areas, which isn’t good enough. We will address it tomorrow.”
