Lam happy as Wigan keep top four place

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam hailed an important win for his side, as they beat Warrington Wolves on Friday.

After earlier wins for Leeds Rhinos and Catalans Dragons, it meant the losers of this match would drop out of the top four.

Lam also said he was happy with the reaction after their defeat in the Challenge Cup.

He said: “Tonight was going to go a big way in terms of getting a spot in the four. We still have a long to go though, we are not getting ahead of ourselves.

“We have Catalans next week and then Salford the week after, so it’s not getting any easier.

“It was a big game for us, more so to bounce back from last week’s performance. The ladder was important, but for us, what we dished up last week was unacceptable and we wanted to put that right.

“There is still some improvement needed, but I was happy with the effort and the energy.”
