With recent reports linking Lachlan Lam with a Super League move away from Leigh Leopards, head coach Adrian Lam has already given his verdict on whether he’ll be allowed to leave.
According to Rugby League Live, he has been offered to Super League clubs – with Lam and his representatives activating the clause in this contract with Leigh that would allow him to head elsewhere.
This is despite him being contracted through 2025 – and the Leopards are disputing the legitimacy of the clause, as they say it doesn’t apply to Super League sides, just NRL.
Either way, the talk has been hotting up of late, and we have actually already got, from head coach (and father) Adrian Lam’s mouth, the boss’ verdict on whether Lam would be allowed to leave.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ The Verdict, Adrian Lam spoke on his son’s future, casting doubt on where he’ll end up.

He said: “Lachlan is contracted for this year and next. Like all players who come from Australia, they have an opportunity and a dream to go back and play in the NRL and that’s Lachlan’s as well.
“If that opportunity comes up, I won’t stand in Lachlan’s way. I understand how important that is to him, if he decides to go down that path. Like all other players who will make that choice when it comes up, we’ll support them and we won’t stand in the way.
“Lachlan has been unbelievable for us and created some great memories for us that the fans will never forget. If Lachlan decides to go home at the end of this year, it’s the same process: we’ll pat him on the back, say well done and we’ll get someone in and we’ll skill them up to do a similar job.”
Lachlan Lam has been one of the Leopards’ best players since signing from Sydney Roosters ahead of the 2022 season, and in his time there, he’s already won the Challenge Cup as well as the RFL Championship and the Championship Leaders’ Shield.
