Lachlan Lam, son of Leigh Centurions boss Adrian Lam, is set for stunning UK move

It’s always impressive when a father and son combination continues the family name through rugby league time.

The likes of Leon Pryce and Huddersfield Giants’ Will Pryce, Terry O’Connor and son Jarrod as well as Tommy and James Leuluai show that rugby league does sometimes run in the blood.

And, a father and son duo which, at this time, is thousands of miles apart, are starting to make their waves in the sport.

Father Adrian Lam became a cult hero at the Wigan Warriors during his time as a player and then took the Lancashire club to the Super League Grand Final in 2020.

Adrian is now, of course, head coach of the Leigh Centurions whom are in the driving seat for promotion at the end of the year to the top flight.

Meanwhile, son Lachlan is trying to carve out a career for himself in the NRL with the Sydney Roosters.

At 24 years of age, however, Lachlan has played 31 games in a period of three and a half seasons, but Lachlan is now set to join up with his father Adrian at Leigh.

A deal is set to be signed as early this week, according to Channel 7 journalist Michelle Bishop who tweeted: “Breaking @sydneyroosters Lachlan Lam is set to reunite with his Dad, Adrian on a new deal with @LeighCenturions in England as early as this week.”

It means that Lam will spearhead father Adrian’s attempts to earn promotion to Super League as the Centurions sit top of the second tier, three points clear of rivals Featherstone Rovers who themselves have been trying to recruit more players to close the gap to Leigh at the top.

Yesterday, prop Dan Fleming made the switch from Championship rivals Bradford Bulls whilst Gadwin Springer made the move a number of weeks ago to the Millennium Stadium.
