Lachlan Lam breaks silence on Leigh to Hull FC reports

Lachlan Lam has provided an update on his future amid interest from Hull FC.

The Black and Whites have made a ‘huge’ offer to sign the halfback from Leigh Leopards on a marquee deal.

Sky Sports reported last month that Hull FC ‘had got their man’ in an update that perhaps signalled a deal was close.

However, despite the noise, no announcement has been made and it has been reported that Lam is also on the radar of clubs across Super League.

His dad and coach of Leigh, Adrian Lam, has previously spoken about his son’s future and suggested the ball is very much in his court.

Meanwhile, Lam had these words to say on his future on Thursday evening after Leigh’s win at Castleford Tigers.

“It’s a tough one for me to answer as well,” Lam admitted.

“We’re working on some stuff and I’m not really in a position to comment on that too much.

“We’re working on some stuff at the moment so hopefully we can clear that up in the next week or so.”

Adrian Lam previously said of his son’s future: “Lachlan is contracted for this year and next. Like all players who come from Australia, they have an opportunity and a dream to go back and play in the NRL and that’s Lachlan’s as well.

“If that opportunity comes, I won’t stand in Lachlan’s way. I understand how important that is to him, if he decides to go down that path. Like all other players who will make that choice when it comes up, we’ll support them and we won’t stand in the way.

“Lachlan has been unbelievable for us and created some great memories for us that the fans will never forget. If Lachlan decides to go home at the end of this year, it’s the same process: we’ll pat him on the back, say well done and we’ll get someone in and we’ll skill them up to do a similar job.”
