Lachlan Coote set for surgery

Hull KR have confirmed today that new signing Lachlan Coote will be heading for surgery.

Both he and Ben Crooks have suffered shoulder problems that require them to have an operation, but both should be fit for the start of the season.

Coote ended his three-year stay at St Helens will three Super League Grand Final victories in a row, as well as a Challenge Cup triumph in 2021, whilst Crooks excelled for Hull KR as the club made it to the semi-finals of the play-offs in inspirational fashion.

The former North Queensland Cowboys fullback made his debut against local rivals Wigan in 2019 and went on to make over 50 appearances for Saints, scoring 34 tries, kicking almost 300 goals for a total of over 700 points.

The Hull KR Instagram page said: “Hull KR can confirm both Ben Crooks and Lachlan Coote will undergo surgery on respective shoulder injuries. The pair are expected to return in early 2022. Speedy recovery, boys!”
