Hull KR’s Lachlan Coote has been enjoying pre-season especially as new boss Willie Peters has worked hard to give them breaks and a taste of something different.

The Robins enjoyed a break over Christmas having travelled to Tenerife before the festive period and Coote believes it has all been beneficial.

he said on the Robins’ Twitter account:

“We have worked really hard before Christmas, Willie gave us then the reward of 12 days off before Christmas which was deserved because we have been working really hard.

“There was the trip to Tenerife as well and a tough trip, the first week back and the standards haven’t dropped either. We’re straight back into things.”

He also revealed the different focus Peters has brought into the club:

“I think Willie has a big focus on making sure the players themselves have a good mental stats which is a good thing. He is a great mentor and he has a care free player so that is definitely helping.”

He went on to elaborate on the benefits this could have:

“I think when Willie came in he wanted to create a connection, he wants us to be the most connected team or as connected as possible which is probably helping with all the stuff we have been doing.”
