Lachlan Coote reveals coaching aim and whether he will play past current deal

Hull KR’s Lachlan Coote may well have joined Rovers on a two-year deal, but he has revealed that it’s possible it could be his last deal as a player.

The three-time Grand Final winner with St Helens revealed all in an his first interview given to the media, including that his wife wants to return home to Australia once his deal has finished at KR.

“We will see how the body is feeling after the next two years,” Coote said.

“It’s possible it might be the last move, I’d have to talk to my wife who’s telling me to give it up!”

The former North Queensland Cowboys fullback has made it clear that he would like to head into some kind of coaching role.

“I’m really enjoying coaching and I’ve embraced trying to help with the younger players, I’ve really taken a fancy to helping out them.

“It could be a chance of leading into coaching or a development role, but then another side of me is saying I want my weekends back!

“Nothing has been discussed with Rovers, that would be hard to convince the missus to stay over here for a coaching gig, but maybe something will come up back over in Australia.”
