Lachlan Coote opens up on relationship with Kristian Woolf and his St Helens departure

Lachlan Coote will no longer be a St Helens player in 2022 after spending three years at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

But, the livewire fullback has opened up on just how good his time at the club has been and how current head coach Kristian Woolf and former boss Justin Holbrook have been integral to his development.

“The best thing with those two coaches is they;ve been approachable and they both back their players and that’s the best thing being under both Justin and Woolfy as well,” Coote said.

“They are not too worried about errors, they are worried about focusing on the next job and that helps you as a player.”

Coote was also quick to stress that the club will prosper without him despite his departure.

“The club is in safe hands, there’s a few of us moving on.

“We’ve seen players move on in the past but we’ve been able to hold on to that consistency as no individual is the reason for our success.

“We’ve been here for three years and we’ve made some great friends around us my little fella is in school playing football and rugby and that will be the hardest thing to tell him that we’re moving.”
