Kyle Amor slams Leigh Leopards red card as “the worst I’ve seen”

Leigh Leopards have been reduced to 12 men becoming the third team in four Challenge Cup quarter-finals to reduced to 12 men this weekend.

The red card went the way of Kai O’Donnell for a dangerous tackle.

The incident was a tip tackle from the impressive Leigh forward.

York were naturally massive underdogs going into the game but against 12 men they have as good a chance as any to claim the win.

Leigh, you’d think, are still favourites.

They are third in the league going into the game.

Speaking on the red card on Viaplay, former Leigh man Ryan Brierley said:

“It’s a funny one because straight away I thought the error from Asiata was very uncharacteristic but the action on the back of it and the ill-discipline, it just kind of summed up where Leigh were at. I think it’s a really bad tackle to carry through.”

Meanwhile, Kyle Amor described the tackle as the worst he’s seen: “Yeah, I’ve played the game for 15, 16 years and that’s the worst that I’ve ever seen in the game from my experience.

“Look, I agree with what Ryan said, I don’t think Kai is a malicious player, he’s just got that awfully wrong and I’m sure he’ll hear a little bit more about that in the coming weeks as well.”
