Leeds Rhinos and Hull FC have been battling for a spot in the play-offs but Warrington Wolves, Hull KR and Salford Red Devils are in a stronger position.
They are all on 24 points leading Leeds, Hull FC and Huddersfield Giants by four points.
The Wolves themselves ended an eight game losing run last week against Hull FC and now Kyle Amor thinks they could be a real threat:
“If they win this, that’ll be the talk ‘if we win this we’re almost guaranteed play-offs’. That squad of Warrington’s is a threat, it’s a threat in the play-offs and again, everything’s all about momentum this time of year.
“There’s plenty of teams that have rode away and won Grand Finals. I’ll mention Leeds, they’ve won it for the fifth multiple times. You just have to be in it. You have to be in it, get your best players playing.
“You’ve got to time it right. Your players have got to be in great form. There’s a load of different things that need to fall into place, but none of that can happen obviously if you’re not in the playoffs.
“I still think Warrington are going to be a huge threat on this season for St Helen’s title; but I think they’ll win against Castleford no issues about that. They’ve got a still got a chance, everybody was laughing at them when they fell away after after that first eight or nine rounds, but again they’ve got to be in it for sure.”
He also said one of Leeds and Hull FC will fall through the trap door out of the play-off race:
“It’s almost whoever loses, trap door now isn’t it? You’re gone. Whoever loses this game is gone and I think Hull FC win this game.
“I think obviously the home advantage there and the fact that I just think that Leeds, a lot of players leaving, isn’t there? Blake Austin, Aidan Sezer, Sam Walters, and it screams out that they just want the season over.
“They want the season over, reset, rebuild and go again for 2024.”
