Kyle Amor shocked a number of the rugby league fraternity this week when he announced his exit from St Helens after eight years at the club.

In that time, the Cumbrian prop forward has registered over 200 appearances at the Totally Wicked Stadium, but he has made his last in the Red Vee.

And, now he will turn out for Super League rivals Warrington Wolves – possibly against Leeds Rhinos with whom he began his Super League career – this Friday night.

Now, Amor has revealed just why he left Saints and chose to join the Cheshire club.

“It’s been really good, I’ve been in with the lads for over a week,” Amor told The Last Tackle podcast.

“The opportunity to play regular rugby was something that really excited me and when a big club like Warrington come along who want you to play, it’s too hard to turn down.”

Amor also said he can’t wait to turn out for a new side with new players.

“Although you’ve played against a lot of the players you don’t know then personally, you’re like a big kid back at school and I’m looking forward to getting going.
