Kyle Amor questions Sione Mata’utia yellow card

Leeds Rhinos’ clash with St Helens last night was like rugby league bingo.

The last thing we needed for a full house was a yellow card and eventually it came but we needed 80 minutes and then three and a half minutes if golden point extra time.

It went to Sione Mata’utia who has had his problems with bans.

He was penalised for a tackle below the knees but Kyle Amor wasn’t so sure.

“I think Liam Moore thinks Sione Mata’utia has come in far too low on that standing leg from Oledzki,” he said on Sky Sports.

“Mata’utia comes in but I don’t think that is below the knee.

“I think the initial contact is above the knee for me.

“I have only seen this play back once but I think initially if you watch his left arm it’s above the knee and it slides down.

“I’m not too sure. They are dangerous tackles, they do look that way but the initial contact is above the knee.”

In the most important way however Saints were let off as Rhyse Martin was unable to land the subsequent penalty which would have won the game in golden point.

At school learning to play rugby our games teacher always said around the legs boy. Know it’s an offence unbelievable.
