Kruise Leeming reveals the man behind his NRL move

Kruise Leeming has joined Gold Coast Titans on a deal till the end of the 2023 Super League season after leaving Leeds Rhinos.

A number of NRL clubs were interested in the England international but what swung things the way of the Queensland club?

Ultimately it was the Super League connection former St Helens boss Justin Holbrook has who is in charge of the Titans.

Leeming said on the club’s website:

“It’s been a good career so far full of challenges and this is a new one that I’m really looking forward to.

“Knowing Justin from the Super League and what he did with St Helens was a massive attraction for me.

“I’ve always wanted to challenge myself in the NRL and it seemed the right timing to come over here, with the connection that Justin has with Super League.

“The club being such a young club with young leaders and a sprinkling of experience in there is something that really appealed to me.”

He emphasised the role Justin Holbrook played in getting him there:

“I knew of him, we had spoken in passing on the field but I wouldn’t say I knew him as a person but I know his accolades, what he achieved and how highly regarded he is.

“Also how smart he is with his tactics and the certain way he coaches and that’s something as a hooker that really appeals to me, so I can’t wait to work under him.”
