Kristian Woolf names star studded Tonga squad including ex-Warrington Wolves man, & Huddersfield Giants star as St Helens duo overlooked

Kristian Woolf has named his 19-man squad for Tonga’s first game of the World Cup which comes against Papua New Guinea at Woolf’s old stomping ground of St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium.

Speaking of St Helens, the two Saints players in the squad don’t find their way into the 19. Konrad Hurrell is left out despite scoring against France last week in a warm-up fixture whilst Will Hopoate continues to manage injuries.

Huddersfield Giants fullback Tui Lolohea will play but likely in the halves having been given the number seven jersey whilst ex-Warrington and Salford forward is also in the 19 man squad and stands a good chance of playing.

The Tongans are without skipper Jason Taumalolo so Catalans bound forward Siosiua Taukeiaho will captain the side.

David Fifita of Gold Coast Titans is almost guaranteed to play after a hat-trick last week against France.
