Kristian Woolf gives some exciting team news head of St Helens clash with Toulouse

Kristian Woolf’s St Helens side have something to put right as they head to France this week to play Toulouse.

The Champions shockingly became the first team to lose to Super League’s newest side earlier this season as they themselves suffered their inaugural defeat of the campaign.

So, with something to prove, Woolf and his side will want all hands on deck as they take on Toulouse, a luxury they did not have last time and today Woolf revealed that they would have two star players back, the first being Regan Grace whose future is still up in the air.

“He was touch and go for our last game against Warrington,” Woolf said of Grace, “We had a decision to make there where everything was telling us he was right to play. We just didn’t feel like he’d practiced enough.

“We were happy with the side against Hull FC and happy to throw out the same side against Warrington and back that side and spend the extra couple of weeks knowing we had a week off to do a bit more with Regan.

“We can bring him back in this week and we’re confident that he’s ready to go.

“He’s an influential player, he’s a player we’ve really missed for a number of reasons. What he brings to the team, we missed that but we also missed the fact that without him and without others people have to play out of position. Mark Percival our best centre and one of the best in the competition has been playing on the wing.”

He also gave an update on the decision facing Grace and his future at the club which you can read about here.

Grace isn’t the only major returnee with Will Hopoate set to return to the side after an up and down start to life at St Helens due to injuries.

“He’s available this weekend,” Woolf confirmed of the versatile back, “A bit similar to Regan. We probably could have made a decision to play him against Warrington.

“He’s played really well when he’s played, he’s played out of position almost every time. He’s shown his experience and his class playing quite busted.”
