Konrad Hurrell to leave Leeds for Super League rival

Leeds Rhinos’ Konrad Hurrell will be leaving Headingley to join St Helens from 2022 and beyond.

That’s according to Rugby League Live who have reported that the centre will head to the Totally Wicked Stadium next year to reunite with Tonga boss Kristian Woolf.

Hurrell had been made an offer by Leeds – though lower than his current marquee salary – but St Helens have offered him more than a year.

Earlier on today, Leeds head coach Richard Agar had said that a decision on the centre’s future would be made very soon.

“There’s no real update to be honest,” Agar said.

“There won’t be anything announced just yet that he will be staying here or going – the offers are out there.

“It’s for Koni to decide what offer fits him best at this point in his career in a contract and a playing opportunity perspective.

“We will see, but I’m pretty confident we will get a resolution shortly.”

Now, though, Hurrell will provide competition with new signing Will Hopoate and Mark Percival at Saints.
