Konrad Hurrell breaks silence on potential move away from St Helens

St Helens have been a champion side for the past three years, winning every Grand Final possible.

So when Saints were hit by the exits of Kevin Naiqama, Theo Fages and Lachlan Coote at the end of the 2021 Super League season, there were some claims that the Merseyside club will fall away.

However, one of those signings to replace the trio – Konrad Hurrell – has taken his game to the next level at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

And, despite being heavily linked with a move back to the NRL with new side the Dolphins for 2023, Hurrell wants to stay at St Helens.

“To be fair there’s not much there to talk about, I’m off contract next year,” Hurrell told Sky Sports after the game.

“I used to do Woolfy’s garden and dishes to do a contract and now I might have to do Mike Rush’s dishes to get a contract.

“Obviously, I want to stay at St Helens, the first option is here but i would look elsewhere after that if it didn’t happen.”

Hurrell was in inspired form as Saints beat Hull FC 24-10 on Friday night, carving up the Black and Whites’ defence on numerous occasions as he wound the clock back in emphatic fashion.
