Kevin Sinfield explains heart warming inspirations for all he has done for Rob Burrow

Kevin Sinfield has done so much for Rob Burrow, but what underpins all of his fundraisers?

Speaking lately, Sinfield has opened up on the heart warming reasons he feels so driven to help his former teammate.

“I do my best thinking when I’m running and it’s really good from a health perspective. I always had the idea that I would try to run for different charities. That’s how it started,” He said in Costco’s Magazine.

“After a few years of running two marathons a year, Rob got diagnosed with COVID. Running then became a vehicle to help others, Rob and the MND community.

“We originally wanted to raise £77,777. Seven was Rob’s number, so everything was around that number. I quickly realised Rob’s story touched so many hearts around the UK and the world and inspired so many people.

“The money is brilliant and that enables science and research around the UK but the big thing has been the support. A lot of these people were ashamed to leave the house, now that’s changed and we’ve been able to provide support to a community that’s been left underfunded for decades.

“It’s been tough, but very enjoyable being back on a team and in a group where there’s a shared belief and goal. There are so many people.

“This was just born out of trying to help a mate. Just because the whistle blows doesn’t mean that friendship stops.

“There are so many caring and beautiful people out there, just try to do your bit, check in with somebody, phone calls, the little things that we take for granted are so important. If we all do a little bit more, we make it easier and better for everyone.”
