Since Rob Burrow’s diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease became public at the beginning of 2020, the general public has been moved by the incredible acts of sacrifice carried out by Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield, in support of his great friend and teammate.

Sinfield’s endurance challenges have helped to raise millions of pounds for MND-related causes, and the high-profile nature of his events has done an intangible amount to raise awareness of the suffering of those with MND.

Last week, Headingley stadium paid tribute to Burrow with a series of moving tributes to the Rugby League legend, which included a reunion of 80 of Burrow’s team-mates, who all joined the current Leeds and Leigh Leopards squads on the pitch at Headingley for a minute’s silence for Burrow.

Now, Sinfield is about to embark on a speaking tour, which has achieved incredible ticket sales.

The event, which will be hosted by Sinfield’s formet teammate, McDermott promises to give a unique insight into Sinfield’s life and the story of his friendship with Burrow. The event description states:

“Kevin Sinfield is one of the most successful players in Rugby League history. Having gained many Championships and Challenge Cup successes as part of great teams, he has also earned many individual accolades.

“Of course, we cannot give you any story of Kevin without mentioning his friendships and one friendship in particular with Rob Burrow. Together they exemplify the enduring power of friendship and you will hear about this special bond at the event.”
