Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow receive hugely positive reaction for MND fundraising documentary ‘UL7RA’

It was the launch and premiere of the documentary ‘UL7RA’ last night in Leeds with the film based around the incredible achievements of Kevin Sinfield in his fight to fundraise for best mate Rob Burrow.

It’s been over three years now since the former Leeds Rhinos’ number seven, Burrow, announced on national television that he had been diagnosed with the neurological condition, Motor Neurone Disease.

Since then he’s had plenty by his side with the rugby league community, his former team mate Sinfield and of course his amazing family supporting him as he continues to raise awareness of the condition.

During the time that’s elapsed Burrow has read a bedtime story to the nation’s children, held the government to account, helped start the foundation of a MND centre in Leeds and also with the help of the amazing Sinfield, the pair have raised millions of pounds.

The efforts have been so incredible that both were honoured at the Sports Personality of the Year award with Burrow taking home the Helen Rollason Award, in recognition of incredible achievements in the face of adversity, whilst Sinfield was recognised with a special award for his efforts.

The duo also received Freedom of the City of Leeds, an event at which Burrow gave an incredibly emotional speech, as reported here.

The most notorious and recent of those efforts was his Seven in Seven Ultra Marathons whereby he ran an ultra marathon every single day for a week which culminated in him finishing at Old Trafford at half time of the World Cup Final.

Reactions among the select few who got to see the premiere have been hugely positive ranging from members of the media, to MND warriors and even to the father of Rob Burrow as well.

The screening was at the EveryMan Cinema in Leeds with a red carpet event at 7pm.

Rob Burrow’s Dad, Geoff tweeted: “Thank you to RAMfilmd Ltd, and Kevin Sinfield and his wonderful team on the ULTRA film. We had  a wonderful evening watching 90 minutes of true inspiration. Thanks again to everyone attending and everyone involved.”

Sinfield will launch his autobiography in May in what is sure to be one of the best-sellers of the year as fans clammer to read about his incredible achievements and more so his incredible bond with fellow Rhinos’ icon, Burrow.
