Kevin Brown says Leeds Rhinos duo could be “ominous sign for other teams”

Leeds Rhinos stunned Champions St Helens last week defeating them thanks to a Blake Austin drop goal in the last minute of the game.

It was a vital win after two defeats to start the season but Erol Crabtree is not convinced by the Rhinos after that win alone.

He said on the Last Tackle on the Sportsman YouTube channel:

“I don’t think they’re the final product or the Leeds team we’ve seen in the past, they’ve got a lot of work to do.”

Kevin Brown echoed these comments saying that he felt Man of the Match Aidan Sezer “didn’t have a great game.”

Brown said: “I think if Sezer and Austin can get to the levels that everyone expected when they started then they won’t be far off. They’re nowhere near it yet. Even though Sezer got Man of the Match on Sky I didn’t think he had a great game.”

That said, Brown did say that if Blake Austin and Aidan Sezer could get firing it would be “ominous” for other teams in

“It’s worked before at Canberra, I was expecting it would be the real deal but if it can click it’s an ominous sign for other teams.”

The Rhinos take on Wakefield Trinity this weekend looking to make it two wins in a row.
