Kevin Brown reveals what Wigan Warriors are missing

Kevin Brown has revealed what he believes is missing at Wigan Warriors.

The Warriors are second in the league and have shown some terrific signs but some fans still aren’t quite convinced.

Brown is impressed by the Warriors but believes they are missing a good stand-off.

“I think they could really do with a good stand-off. I think if they got a good standoff then to be able to have that combination with Harry Smith they’ll be such a good team.”

They currently have Cade Cust but he is out of contract.

Some want to see Jai Field play there when he returns from injury.

This came as Brown said he would love to play for this Wigan team:

“I’d love to play at Wigan. as stand off in that team right now, where you’ve got French and Field and the pace you have around you and playing alongside Harry Smith.

“I’d also like to play for Matty Peat as well. I really like how he coaches, he’s demanding, he’s honest and I’d love to go there in my peak.

“I played there at the start of my career and I was a massive Wigan fan so I’d have liked to have been there in my peak.”

Fellow guest on BBC Five Live Graham Steadman said he would like to play for Salford Red Devils:

“I’d love to play at Salford at the moment, I love the brand of rugby they play.

“I’d want to play at fullback, I wouldn’t want to dislodge the kid who’s playing at standoff for them at the moment because Croft is a special talent.

“So I think the way in which they’ve got them playing, they are very pleasing on the eye. A lot of people might raise their eyebrows at that and I would have loved to have said Cas, but unfortunately they’re just not firing.

“I also like how Hull KR are playing, so that will be an interesting quarter-final match-up. But, yes, Salford, I really enjoy watching Salford at the moment.”
