Kevin Brown names his best player in Super League

That old age debate about who is the best player in Super League throws up some interesting choices now and again.

Of course, Wigan Warriors’ Jai Field is leading the way in the Steve Prescott Man of Steel points courtesy of some incredible pieces of individual skill that continues to wow audiences.

For former Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils halfback Kevin Brown, however, he would like to see a fellow halfback earn the Man of Steel accolade.

“I think Jonny Lomax is the best player in the league,” Brown said on BBC 5 Live.

“As an ex-halfback I watch him and I just think wow and how does he do it every week under pressure.

“He gets targeted and I just think Jonny should get Man of Steel in his career but unfortunately he’s got these terrific players at St Helens around him taking points off him.”

Lomax has made over 250 appearances for his hometown club Saints, accruing almost 700 points over the course of 14 seasons
