Kevin Brown has been “surprised” by “how poor” this side have been

Going into the season there was naturally a lot of hype around certain teams.

But there was certainly plenty of hype around the Huddersfield Giants.

Their new star signing Jake Connor said they had the best squad in the league and on paper he had a point.

After finishing third in 2022 and reaching the Challenge Cup Final, the Giants invested heavily into the squad and they looked like a real contender.

The Giants however currently sit outside the play-offs after losing a series of close games against fellow title rivals.

Meanwhile, they also surprisingly came unstuck against Hull FC who had lost seven games on the bounce.

Thus, former Giant Kevin Brown has been left surprised with “how poor” they have been.

He said on The Last tackle:

“I’ve been surprised by Huddersfield and how poor they’ve been. They wanted silverware, never mind the top six and they’re languishing at ninth so that’s been a big surprise for me.

“Warrington have been great even though they’ve lost the last two, winning eight out of ten.

“I’ve been surprised with Saints. When they won that World Club Challenge and how good they’ve been, only winning a handful of games is unlike Saints but for me I still think they’re the team to beat. I still think they’re the favourites when it comes to they can perform.”
