When you look at Huddersfield Giants spine at present it is full of attacking flair.

This is why former Giant Kevin brown is confused by the fact it is not clicking for the Giants as they struggle for points.

Speaking on The Last Tackle, Brown said that he believes the Giants’ “mavericks” are being “constrained.”

“With the mavericks I don’t think they’re being released. It’s sort of like they’re being constrained I think,” he said.

He went on to say that he believes that the patient approach isn’t working:

“This patient approach just isn’t working for them.

“They’ve got one of the best squads, they’re spending a lot of money on that squad and their attack is poor.

“From working with Watto personally it’s strange because I know how good an attacking coach he is. They’ve got really good attacking players, a really good attacking coach but it’s not working.”

The Giants face a really tough task this week against Hull KR who are where the Giants were last year.

The Robins have beaten last year’s Grand Finalists in their last four games as well as recording a thumping win over Hull FC in the derby.

The Giants have pushed a lot of top teams very close this season but have come up short.

This is a game where they need to change that.
