Kevin Brown and Leon Pryce set for new punditry roles

The new team for Premier Sports’ rugby league coverage has been announced, with Emma Jones fronting the channel.

Jones, who is the host of Leeds TV for football side Leeds United, has also done the breakfast show Viking FM and Viking 2.

The lead commentator for Premier Sports will be Mark Wilson, who is well known as a commentator for TalkSport and occasionally for Sky Sports.

Pundits in the opening week will include former players Kevin Brown and Leon Pryce, as well as St Helens and England Women’s star Jodie Cunningham and Keighley Cougars’ director of rugby Andrew Henderson.

Premier Sports is set to become the exclusive home of Monday Night Rugby League with live and exclusive coverage from the 2022 season to the Play-Offs in the Autumn culminating in the Million Pound Game –including every match of the Summer Bash featuring all 14 clubs in a single venue on the same weekend.

The deal also includes coverage of seven Betfred Challenge Cup ties through the spring, as Premier Sports have secured secondary rights to the competition – first choice picks in rounds 3, 4 and 5, the third and fourth pick of round 6 and the third and fourth pick of the Quarter Final Round.

Viewers will therefore be able to watch over 40 matches guaranteed live and exclusive on Premier Sports in 2022 – with Emma Jones set to be the face of the new show.
