Hull FC have been somewhat of a quandary in 2022.
Capable of putting some big wins together – like against Leeds Rhinos and Salford Red Devils – but also capable of some shocking losses – for example at Hull KR – the Black and Whites have yet to find their groove.
However, one man has certainly stood out amongst those poor defeats and that is new recruit Joe Lovodua who joined as a relative unknown ahead of the 2022 Super League season.
And, for former Warrington Wolves assistant coach Andrew Henderson and ex-Warrington and Salford Red Devils player Kevin Brown, he has been the talisman so far this campaign.
“One player I’ve been impressed with is Joe Lovodua,” Henderson told the Last Tackle podcast.
“I think he’s been outstanding and one of their best players – what a find he has been.
“What I enjoy about him is you can put him anywhere, whether that’s at back-row, at 13, in the halves or at hooker.”
“They need those sort of players in the team,” Brown said.
Hull have won five games from nine fixtures so far this season, but were inconsistent over the Easter Weekend, losing to bitter rivals Hull KR before just about getting over the line against Warrington Wolves.
The Black and Whites face Catalans Dragons at the MKM Stadium on Sunday evening.
