Keith Senior’s Super League Predictions: Round 20

Hull KR vs Hull FC (Thursday 7.45pm)

Lee Radford’s side are in top form and their performance in Perpignan last Saturday was exceptional. Hull KR on the other hand are in a desperate situation now. It will be interesting to see if Tony Smith manages to get Matt Parcell signed in time for the game. It will be a full-blooded Hull derby as always with those from the West of the city celebrating at full-time.

Wakefield Trinity vs Huddersfield Giants (Friday 7.45pm)

Two teams who are not looking more towards the bottom than the top. Wakefield will be delighted to welcome back Bill Tupou and they will be hoping to get a few more back in the coming weeks. Huddersfield have not played well since they destroyed Hull FC at Magic Weekend. I just have a sneaky feeling the Giants will pinch this.

Warrington Wolves vs St Helens (Friday 7.45pm)

The top two face off for the second time this season and Warrington will certainly be hoping it’s closer than the last meeting. Should the Wolves lose here they are at risk of been caught by Hull FC in third, so there is more pressure on them. St Helens are six points clear at the top and cruising. Last time Saints dominated Wire in the forwards and I can see that happening again. For that reason I can’t look past the leaders here.

Wigan Warriors vs Salford Red Devils (Friday 7.45pm)

As predicted a few weeks ago Wigan have started to win games and are now on the verge of the play-offs. If they win here they will be in the top five but Salford will have something to say about that. The Red Devils have had superb back-to-back wins against Wakefield and Castleford, but winning at the DW Stadium against a team that have already beaten them twice this season will be a stretch too far I think.

Leeds Rhinos vs Catalans Dragons (Sunday 3pm)

If Richard Agar could have chosen an opponent in Super League this weekend then I think he may have opted for Catalans. Their capitulation at home last week left head coach Steve McNamara fuming and they have looked poor for a while now. Leeds really need a playmaker and their fans will be hoping they complete the signing of Rob Lui to provide that spark. Two desperate teams but the Rhinos needs are much greater so I’ll back them for the win.

Castleford Tigers vs London Broncos (Sunday 3.30pm)

Daryl Powell will be concerned by the Tigers slide down the table but he knows a few wins puts them right back in the mix. A few weeks ago I wouldn’t have fancied London going to the Jungle and getting anything but after their three consecutive wins they have every chance. The Broncos have been exceptional lately, however, Cas will be targeting this game to get their season back on track so they will just get over the line in this one.
